Sunny Poreč by Valamar: wallpapers as part of the hotel hallway identity
With renovation and rebranding, Sunny Poreč by Valamar gained a new visual identity inspired by sports, which extends throughout the hotel corridors. Each corridor features its own sports theme – from basketball and football to tennis – through illustrations, sports details, and interesting facts related to specific sports.
Walls with Souls was responsible for the realization of approximately 250 m² of wallpaper in the hotel corridors. Based on the prepared graphic designs, we took measurements and verified positions on site, technically adapted the graphics, selected appropriate materials, handled production, contour cutting, and coordinated and installed.

Sports Identity Through Hotel Corridors
The hotel's sporty character is also evident in its communication areas. Different corridors feature different themes, while illustrations of athletes, trophies, and messages with interesting facts from the world of sports create recognizable visual entities.
The colors and character of the graphics are linked to the rest of the interior, so the wallpapers become an integral part of the overall identity of the space.
The creative concept and graphic designs were developed as part of the hotel's branding, while Walls with Souls was involved in the technical preparation and realization phase of the wallpapers on site.
From Prepared Graphics to Actual Position
Before starting production, we visited the site with the Valamar marketing team and reviewed all planned wallpaper positions. We measured the walls and checked how the prepared graphics fit the actual dimensions and elements in the space.
Although we received the graphic designs already prepared, each position needed to be checked before production. On some walls, additional elements intruded into the composition, so we moved and adjusted certain parts of the motifs to ensure the final execution matched the intended look.
Some wallpapers were not installed over the entire wall surface. We contour-cut individual illustrations according to the shape of the figures, making them separate graphic elements within the corridors. This execution required precise alignment of the graphic, cut contour, and actual wall position.
For wallpapers created according to a project, it's not enough to just adjust the wall dimensions. The graphic, cut, material, and actual position must function as a whole.

Same Finished Look, Two Types of Wallpaper
One of the more important technical parts of the project was choosing the appropriate wallpaper for each position.
Not all wall surfaces had the same characteristics, which is why we defined the appropriate material and installation method based on the type and preparation of the substrate.
On some positions, Peel and Stick self-adhesive wallpaper was used, while on others, Premium Linen wallpaper, installed with adhesive, was applied.
Although the materials differ in application method, they were chosen to have a similar canvas/linen finish. This allowed us to use a technically suitable solution for each position while maintaining the visual coherence of the wallpapers throughout the hotel corridors.

Substrate Testing Before Installation
For self-adhesive wallpapers, proper wall preparation is a prerequisite for a high-quality finished result.
Therefore, before installation on site, we conducted a test application of a self-adhesive wallpaper sample to check whether the walls were adequately prepared for the chosen material.
Such a check allows any potential substrate issues to be identified before final installation, which is especially important in projects where various finishing works are carried out simultaneously.
Approximately 250 m² of wallpaper for hotel corridors
After measurement, verification of all positions, necessary graphic adjustments, and material definition, production followed.
For the corridors of Sunny Poreč by Valamar, approximately 250 m² of wallpaper was produced, printed with UVgel technology on a Canon Colorado printer.
For wallpapers made for a specific interior, production itself is only one part of the process. The actual dimensions of the walls, the arrangement of motifs, the positions of the contour cuts, the chosen material, and the installation method must all be coordinated before printing begins.
Installation with Coordination of Works on Site
At the time of installation, the hotel was still in the final phase of renovation, which required the execution to be coordinated with other works on site.
Coordination with painting works and wall preparation was especially important, as the condition of the substrate directly affects the quality of wallpaper installation.
Since two types of wallpaper with different application methods were used on the project, the installation was carried out by two specialized installers – one for self-adhesive wallpapers and the other for wallpapers installed with adhesive.
In this way, the appropriate execution method was applied for each position, while simultaneously coordinating with the dynamics of other works on site.

Wallpapers as Part of the Space's Identity
The finished corridors show how a hotel's identity can extend through wallpapers specifically designed for a particular space.
Large-format sports motifs give individual corridors their own character, while different themes together build the recognizable visual language of Sunny Poreč by Valamar.
Behind the final result lies a series of steps that the guest will not notice – measurement, graphic verification, adaptation of motifs to actual positions, material selection according to the substrate, testing, production, contour cutting, and coordinated installation.
This is precisely the part of the project where Walls with Souls collaborates with architects, interior designers, investors, and project teams – taking on the technical development and realization of wallpapers according to the requirements of the specific project.

The Sunny Poreč by Valamar project is a continuation of our collaboration with the investor after previously successfully completed projects.
Walls with Souls also participated in the realization of wallpapers in hotel rooms, where the connection between the Sunny identity and sports continues through different graphic solutions. We will present this part of the project in a separate case study.
